I used these 4" bolt on shoes for another purpose. I installed on a Can Am Defender front mount snowplow. I needed to add an inch and a half of washers for spacers to level mounting to skid shoe bracket on backside of Can Am snowplow and a four-inch bolt with the included nyloc torque retaining nut. The front raised edge 3/8" shoulder catches the cutting edge of snowplow and then the bolt gives clamping force to hold in place and zero vibration. The original mushroom style factory skids were horrible and vibrated and barely held the blade off driveway by 1/4" and my gravel drive would have plowed the grass and gravel off. These bolt on edge guards raise the blade an inch off the ground but is plenty close enough for country use for plowing snow off gravel driveways. I am satisfied with them, but time will tell as to how the bottom surface will wear and if I will need to add hard tack welding rod for abrasion wear resistant, but it is too early to know as of now. So, for a non-conventional use, they have adapted to this application well. I recommend them as much better than anything else I have 'extensively researched online' to suit my needs. Most importantly is they do not induce vibration all through my Can Am as the original factory mushroom skids did.
They are American made. A bit more expensive but doing my little part to try to maintain American workers keeping their jobs!
